Citizenship Application

Hello Guys,
I submitted my Canadian Citizenship Application on the 5th of May 2014 and was received 4 days later on the 9th May 2014. And since then I have not heard from them.
I just checked ECAS to see the status of my application. And this is what I saw.

1. We received your application for Canadian Citizenship on the 9th May 2014
2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application and a study book called discover Canada on May 9, 2014
3. We started processing your application on the 15th July 2014.

However, I have not received the said acknowledgement letter nor the study book (Discover Canada) up till now.

My Question: Is it possible for a letter that was sent since May 9, 2014 to still be on the road? Or may be the letter and the book was sent out on Tuesday 15th July 2014.
Should I call them or I should still wait for the said letter?

The letter has been sent only on July 15th. No use in calling CIC. Online update is more than enough and it may take more than 2 weeks for you to get the actual AOR and discover Canada book

Hello Guys,
Just to inform you guys that I have not still receive my acknowledgement letter and Discover Canada book that CIC claimed to have sent to me since May 2014. I am already getting worried. I hope this won't pose any problem to me if they call me for Citizenship Test and have not received the said mail or Discover Canada book? Again, I hope the letter for the call to write the Citizenship test will not miss in transit?
Please kindly help me on the way forward. Has any one out there had this same experience like me?
And what was the outcome at last?

Hello Guys,
Thank God I finally received my acknowledgement letter and Discover Canada test book from CIC yesterday.
Letter was actually dated 15th July 2014. I am surprise that the letter sent since July has taken almost 2 months to reach destination all within Canada.
Anyway, does any one know when CIC may likely invite me for the test?
I mean the approximate time from when they sent out the acknowledgement letter to when you'll be invited to write the test.
Any hint on the Citizenship Exam or Test will also be appreciated.

Glad to hear you got your AOR + book. It's anybody's guess what goes on in CIC's mailroom and with Canada post. No idea when you may be invited for the test, from my experience on others on the forum, it seems test notices are sent at least 2 weeks before the test date. Not a bad idea to begin studying gradually.

As for hints on the test - it is very easy if you study the guide and do practice tests. There is already a group for May 2014 applicants, if you wish to join us.
