I know PR status is independent of each other, what do you suggest for citizenship application together or separated as married people?

Same like PR, separate application for each individual.

*However, send them as one package to have the processing done in-one-go as a family unit.

If you both are eligible, It's better to apply together as it might bring some suspicions during the interview.

1. Although the OP should note if you send them together, and there is a problem with one of the applications, then the 2nd one is held up which can really delay processing.

This really should be the only consideration for the OP. It's nice to apply as a unit in that you'll be scheduled for the oath at the same time. Tests may or may not be at the same time, even if submitted together, but most likely together. I don't believe it will arouse any suspicion if you apply separately.
