I will be applying for citizenship at the end of February and have just started working through the application. There is a section that requires me to indicate if I have filed taxes for each of the last five years (2018-2022). For years 2018-2021 I have filed taxes, no issue there.
For 2022 I spent 6.5 months of the year in my birth country and my plan was to file my home taxes this April (this is based on birth country tax filing times) and immediately after that file my Canadian taxes before April 30th. Based on my employment and income situation it's much simpler for me to do it this way.
My concern is that I would indicate that I did not file taxes in 2022 and that it would create issues for my application. I'd be HUGELY appreciative if anyone had any insight on this part of the application or could share any similar personal experiences?
