Dear Friends,

I need some help while filling out 6F.

for the question 6F.

I came here to Canada on student visa. After studies,
I was on open work permit for an year . Before it got expired i had go back and apply for my student visa . I got my study permit for an year, one week after the work permit got expired. I got my PR after 3 months of getting my study permit. So instead of joining in the college, I started working again because i got PR.

My question is, How to write the last 4 years of work or study experience with this gap between work permit and PR. ?
Also there is a one week difference between work permit expirty date and study permit.

Please let me know

Thanks,

Straightforward (a friend of mine had 14 months of gap): Fill out the table and include a row for the gap. On the cover letter, explain in details, why the gap. Make sure you reference question 6F on the cover letter. You should be fine.

Thank You, But how to explain the gap between work permit expiry date and
The date got my study permit - because there is a gap of 1 week between those 2 dates .
Also, I knew that I was going to get PR in 3 months and didn't join in the college and I got pr as expected and started working .

You just explained it and makes sense. Make sure you write it up nicely on the cover letter.

Now, for question 6F, use a table to record you past four years (separate sheet probably as you've got some explanation to do). When you get to that one week, you don't have to single it out in this particular question because the requirement is mm-yyyy. So, unless that one week adjoins two months, you don't have to write it in this question. Make sure you include copies of your work and study permits with your application, and reference them on the cover letter.

You could write that you decided to dedicate to a professional career before returning to school and that you intended to spend those three months waiting for the PR. Upon becoming a PR, you immediately went to work. Nothing mysterious, just keep it plain and DO NOT lie or conceal anything, but do not over-complicate things. Plain, concise.

For those 3 months , do I need to write as unemployed since I did not join in the college and waiting for my PR- or just leave it blank and explain in a seperate letter . Do I need to mention the college name even though I did not attended the college because I was on study permit at that time ( 3 months). Please let me know.

Don't leave it blank -- write "unemployed/not studying". I had a similar 2-month period while awaiting transfer to a college, but wasn't working either -- just hanging around waiting. I wrote exactly that on the cover letter (put nicely, of course).

Thank You Friend, Whom do we need to address on the cover letter?

I am just planning to keep an extra sheet to answer question 6F - and write the cover letter there to explain those 3 months gap.
Do we need a main cover letter also for the citizenship application?
Please let me know.
