Citizenship Application Lost?

Hi,

I'm currently a permanent resident, fulfilled all my residency obligations and submitted my completed citizenship application Feb2012, I received my little booklet in the mail shortly thereafter.

10 months later however, when I punch in my PR number (or any other identification at that) into the online status checker there appears to be no proof of my application's existence.

I'm in a rut, even if it hasn't begun processing yet shouldn't it have at least showed up on their records? I've never been able to actually talk to a representative on the phone despite numerous attempts at getting through.

What can I do? I appreciate all the help the regulars on this forum provide.

Hi goobypls,

First of all you should find the copy of the application which you sent them and by the way which office did you submitted the application. It might be that they did not enter your info online. Secondly, try and pop in to find out if there are any issues as the chances are week that they might have lost your application. The booklet is the proof that they have your file and might have missed to updated online.

So don't waste time in panic and try reaching someone at the email at question@cic.gc.ca or at 1-888-242-2100 and speak to an agent.

Good Luck

Rose :)

Try entering only your last name on Ecas, not your entire name. That is what happened to me. I was entering my complete name, and the CIC agent told me to enter only my last name, and it worked, I finally saw that my application was received.

Good luck
