The relevant application / guide reads:
Photocopy of two (2) pieces of personal identification.
Both pieces of identification should show the minor’s name and date of birth, one of which must have a photo on it.
Examples include:
I have to file for Canadian Citizenship for my child under subsection 5(2) - Minor, who has just become landed immigrant but before he turns 18 in one month time. One ID from the above list, which is passport from the country of origin is straight forward. However, the second required ID which apparently should be a Canadian issued ID cannot be procured in such short time as health card would take around 3 months, school admission would take time due to finding residence & COVID factor and hospital / immunization record again may not be relevant at this stage as the child is grown up now and his available record is from the country of origin. Would any alternate Canadian document or even above documents issued from country of origin be acceptable under this scenario. Would a three month private insurance acceptable? I do not want that the application is returned on this matter as then the case will not be processed under minor category and hence he will have to fulfill residency requirements.
Please advise.
