We had applied for Canada Citizenship for the entire family (myself, spouse and twi kids) in Sept 2020. The application is in progress ( says background check completed and its slow these days). In Sept, 2021, when we inquired to IRCC, they responded - “Still in progress. Security and Criminality passed. Verifying link of parentage (with the children)”
1. Another wrinkle here is that my Kids US passport (from their country of birth) were expiring in early 2021 and so we got them renewed but then they were totally new passport (with new passport numbers etc). Could this be reason for delay?
2. Does anyone see any issue? I am not sure if Canada citizenship application can proceed with previous passports (which were valid during time of application ) but since then are now expired and we got them new passports.
3. I am wondering if we should use the web-form to update the kids passport.
