Hi Experts, Hero Members,

I am wondering if there is a way to get clarity on Citizenship Application File which has not seen any update / movement for more than 6 months. With the help of this forum we get better idea of how files are being processed.. although IRCC officially said 27 months in their latest timelines but in most cases.. we can see that all applications are completed in less than 12 months. In my case, its been more than 6 months, no update / no movement at all, whereas members in my same month of application have even got their citizenship certificates..

I have already done the following actions:

1. Kept tracking my application in the new tracker.. (now opening it makes me depressed as I see no update)

2. Called IRCC many times, but it does not connect to a real agent

3. Reached out to my local MP, the information I received was very general, similar to what I can see on the tracker.

4. Request for ATIP notes - This helped me find out which office is processing my file.. I saw some due dates assigned to Background check, Language, Physical Presence, etc., does the officer handling my file has to complete the required action on or before these dates? or do they lapse? Even after 10 days of receiving the notes, there was no update / ghost update on my application. Is there something particular I should be aware of in my notes?

Beyond this, what can be done? I have read many post of people whose applications are in-progress for more than 2 years.. how are they dealing with this situation? do we just wait and watch.. I see some petitions for expediting processing of files.

If you have any suggestions, solutions, work-arounds, please do share.. I am sure there are many like me whose application processing is delayed.

Just like mine, If you application is delayed, please do chime in, at least we can have a common thread to help a greater cause.

Thanks in advance.
