Citizenship and PR renewal application

Hi,

I have a query related to Canada Citizenship and PR renewal process. My family is eligible for Citizenship and planning to apply for it soon. Meanwhile the PR card will also expire in next 6 months. What is advised in this case.

1. Should i apply for citizenship and PR Renewal both and there will be no conflict.
2. Should i apply for citizenship and it will not impact in case my PR card expires.

You can take oath with an expired PR card. PR card can expire, but your PR status doesn't, as long as you satisfy the requirements of staying a PR.

Only problem will be if you decide to travel outside Canada. You need a valid PR card to return back to Canada.
