Hi Everyone.

I'm a Permanent Resident for now 2.5 years, from Europe, and I love Canada, especially B.C. and Alberta.

However I got a one in a lifetime career opportunity in the USA and therefore I will leave Canada the next month.

In the future I will most probably want to go back to Canada, it's just a great country, I would see myself buying there, living there, etc...

My PR ends in 2 years... Is there a way I accumulate the remaining 6 months of presence in the next two years to then apply to citizenship? (Working remotely from Canada 3 months a year?)

Is it even possible to apply for citizenship not residing in Canada anymore.

Has anyone been in this situation?

Thank you

You can apply for citizenship at any point in your life so long as you fulfill all eligibility criteria (edited to specify: especially the physical presence of 1095 days in the last 5 years) on the date you sign your application.

You don’t say how long you intend to be in the US, so do your own math, making sure that you'll meet 1095 days in Canada in the last 5 years.
