Hi there, :)

I have two questions plz regarding sponsoring a family (Wife + 2 kids)

I´m a Citizen living outside of Canada and have a good income to sponsor as per the the CIC chart.

1- Which one is faster, to sponsor them while they are in Canada (as students) or to sponsor them while they are here with me? *Any idea of the time-line for In-Canada application*

2- What sort of proof the CIC will require to show that we will live in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident?

Thanks a Lot

1. Faster depends on what office your family members would be processed by if they did an Outland application. Inland applications take a minimum of 11-12 months for initial assessment, plus an additional 8 months for second stage (PR approval). Bear in mind that if the children are yours they could inherit your citizenship and not need sponsorship, depending on the circumstances. If they are not eligible to inherit, you will be required to pay international fees for them to attend school after getting them student permits, and none of your family members will be eligible for medical coverage until they have PR.

2. They will need proof of plans covering where you plan to live, where the children will be going to school, where you plan to work, that sort of thing. Also proof of plans to leave whatever country you are currently residing in.
