Its amazing your are being slapped with CIT520 after having waited for so long. And also that it took them 6 months to decide that they wanted CIT520 (why note issue it after the test). I wish you get your citizenship soon.

What they ask you in CIT 520 what documents they are now looking forward
which you have not provided at time of RQ... my case is enter into 41 months
and no news...

submit whatever documents you have and what they requested and am sure this
will be your last step...

they need the certificate of work and all passport pages,t4 for 2008 to 2012, but the problem now that I have applied these for my son for his citizenship and they told me that it must be included on my file will take more time for my son here its timline

Is your son above 18 years old than there is a separate case if your file
is with your son than they will wait for your reply. The paper they have requested
is difficult to provide ? if not than send the papers may be they will finalize
as soon you send the papers as they are asking you limited stuff..

My son is 15 years old i sent all the document they needed on April 20 and still waiting and I have urgent travel in July.

I had a CIT 0520 a few days ago in the mail as well. It requested colour copies of my passport as well as a plane ticket for proof of travel in 2013. Did any of you guys hear from CIC after you sent them back the documents and has it affected the speed of your application? Thank you for your time.

It is really annoying to get these when you think you have done everything perfectly. I don't want to criticize CIC too much because i travelled many times and I can realize how it might be hard to navigate around all stamps but I submitted a translation of every stamp during my initial application. I just don't want this to last for a very long time as I might be moving away from Vancouver next september for graduate school. Good luck with yours Sad.

Yes of course I will let you know whatever happens. 41 months? That kills all the hopes I had left for this CIT not slowing down my application. Let's keep each other updated! Good luck and I hope it gets solved soon because no one should wait this long.

There has been one person on here who got the CIT0520 form and then got an oath invite ten days later. Most of what I'm reading states otherwise.

It does not make a lot of sense to me, as when we get the CIT0520 we have an immigration officer assigned to our specific case. How long does it take them to go over the document request? I feel making someone wait upwards of 40 months is a bit ridiculous; a passive aggressive response from the government of Canada.

When I went for my second interview at my citizenship test the officer informed me that even if I got the paper issued I'd still receive a test invite 2-4 months IF I got the CIT0520. Unfortunately, I received it, and turned in all requested documents last week. Now I wait. So annoying.

I completely agree with you in that the lack of transparency and the inconsistency in dealing with those leave us completely helpless regarding the speed of our application. However, it seems like they are speeding things up and that CIT 0520 are issued more and more because they are detailed and are issued by the specific agent assigned to our file in the local city. Let's keep each other updated regarding the progress of our applications to get a general idea for those who get it in the future.
