Hello everyone,

Any Montreal applicants still waiting for a response answer to their CIT 0520's that were mailed to the CIC Eastern Region? I heard the response time for Montreal was about 2-4 weeks with the new processing speeds. They received my CIT 0520 response documentations on December 18th, 2015. It's been 24 days now, no CIC website update on ECAS status for an oath.

Is this delay because of the Syrian refugees coming in? The holidays perhaps?

Responses to CIT 0520's are not updated immediately. I believe it goes into some queue, get evaluated against the CIC's doubts before next action is taken. I know its tough but everything is so unpredictable with CIC. Hopefully, in coming weeks you can expect something.

I had asked an authoritative source, if the Syrian Refugees crises pushing things back ?, He explained Syrians getting their PR even before they arrive and different set of staff handling that, as such it will not impact Citizenship process. Don't know who to believe ???

The CIT 0520 going into another queue is definitely concerning. The only action left in regards to "before action is taken" is to schedule the oath of citizenship.

Oh interesting. It does make sense that the Syrian refugees land in Canada with PR status, as well as the handling by a separate department. Thanks for your input.

I wonder if more on this forum have input on this specific stage topic. Rather, others dealing with the Montreal offices.

Hi
Unfortunately in every office there are fast processing agents and slow processing agents.
Which agent will pick up your application is a matter of luck.

I guess for that reason they never want to publish any definitive deadlines for the processing times.

What matters most is who is processing your application, for that reason every office shows evidence of slow and fast timelines at the same time.

Is there anyone in this forum being handled by the Montreal office that also sent out their CIT 0520 supplementary documents and has yet to get an update on it?
