Hello All,
I attended this session yesterday and found is extreamly useful for immigrants who will be relocating to Canada.
The few points that I liked the best:
1. It gives chance to expand network in your home country with people who attend the course. YOu wont believe how many people with different type of skills I met (Chefs, Dentist, nurses, IT managers, Animation artusts, aero engg, teachers etc). I thought In bangalore, only IT people would be coming.
2. They give you lots of links where you can get useful informations like what to do before you leave and once you are there, how to prepare of interviews, how to talk to people, how to search for houses, info about each province, which province to choose for your work etc
3. They provide the personal plan for each individual based on inputs given and connect with agencies like community colleges, immigrant service providers etc. They will inturn guide you to concerned people for getting the PR card, SIN number, Driving license, jobs, volunteering, mentoring, focus groups etc
4. It is free of cost and is funded by Govt of Canada.
5. They provide initial free document evaluation for you. And provide you the guidance on how and what to do while you are in home country that would help you to land in your job quickly.
6. Show you the success stories and challanges the new comers face in Canada.
7. All the people who attend this are entitled for certain services (I am not sure as I have not yet attended the personal session where they are going to tell us about these) which help us in getting contacts to our menotrs in canada.
I recommend that every one should attend these sessionsDetails can be found here: http://www.newcomersuccess.ca/index.php/about-ciip?lang=en-GB
