CIC said they lost the Open Work Permit application

Good morning everyone,

I've just gotten off the phone with a CIC agent, who has informed me that the open work permit must be lost in missassauga because there is currently no open work permit application under the account. But I have sent it in (imm 5710) along with the rest of the permanent residence application, back in October. I've also received a receipt fro the payment of the open work permit, and now am being told that there is no said application.

I've tried calling CIC again, but it's hanging up on me due to a high volume of calls.

What are my options?

You can either try to call until you get hold of them or write a webform and explain the situation. I think, you will have to re-submit it again because they don’t have your application which they have to access your eligibility. They may wave the application fee, but you need to confirm with them.
