CIC opnline application: Passport submission in India

I have applied for a visitor visa online and have received a letter stating to submit the passport. My question is do I need to submit the passport in-person or can I mail to any of the address mentioned here in India : vfsglobal.ca/canada/india/contact_us.html

Apply in person to nearest VFS office.
you will be having option to either courier to your home if you have access to fedex/DHL near by you or option to pick up at VFS where you submitted.
