man this sucks !

SEND IT AGAIN ASAP ! Don't let their dumbness get to you - two months in a life are not much, so just send it again buddy! And on the next elections, remember what they have done to you !

Cheers !

thats so unfortunate txboyscout...

so that signature on delivery means absolutely nothing then? It has only been 3 weeks since they have 'received' my app, so in couple of weeks I should start calling them to ensure they have my application..... fantastic...

I was thinking of keeping the calls to CIC at a minimum throughout my processing, in the hopes of not stressing myself out... but seems like CIC might as well add it to the official list of things to do after you send your application - 'Call us to confirm, if we still have your application in the system', 'Call us to confirm if we havent flushed your application down the toilet'...

lol That is about right. When I told the CIC lady that I had the signature proof of the application being recvd in Sydney she told me they recieve 1000's of these a month and its easy to loose a few

It used to be that CIC administrative error could qualify an applicant for urgent processing, but it looks like this has been removed: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-urgent.asp

Regardless, I recommend that you contact your MP to register your frustration and see if they can encourage the CIC to find your first application, or barring that, put some extra care into timely processing of your next application. This may or may not work, but it's important for the CIC to have some level of accountability.

Also, if and when you resubmit, include a cover letter noting that you are resubmitting due to CIC administrative error (loss of application received date XX) and include a photocopy of the CIC delivery notification of your previous application. Note the advice of the Call Centre employee named XXXX and consulted with on this date: XXXX. Applicants are not allowed to have more than one citizenship application at the same time, so you want to show that you've done everything right and that it was CIC that made the error in case your previous application is found and the CIC both applications in process.

Sorry to heard about this.

This thing happened to me with my All Original Documents (Educational + Others etc.), when I sent to CHC, Islamabad while processing my PR case. They received but didn't enter in the system and there was no manual record of receiving. I Called/Faxed/posted mails so many times, after 4-5 months they called me and said that we have found your document in our receiving section and will return you shortly.

So, my assumption is that they have received but didn't enter in the system. So, meanwhile prepare new application and wait 2-weeks. After that, call them if not received/entered in system, then mail again.

I agree with eileenf, do this as he suggested. But, you doesn't qualify for "Urgent Processing" because you don't have job offer letter which requires Citizenship.

I strongly ask you to wait. They have told me the same thing last Friday. They received my application on December 30th according to FED EX and 3 agents confirmed on March 7th that they have no record of my application and just on Wednesday I saw my status online. So Just wait and call again in one week or shorter. This is also a response from one of the citizenship expert.

"CPCS is often very slow to issue Acknowledgements of Receipt. We usually get the AoRs 3 to 7 months after submission.

I have never had them lose one, but I have heard stories.

If you ever need to communicate about an application that has not been assigned a file number, quote the courier tracking number (CPCS uses that as a temporary file number). Apparently, the apps awaiting file numbers are just kept in large plastic bins which I am guessing are coded by receipt date."

at eileenf don't stress your self with the "he" as this is the common way of the human brain to refer people "He" if the gender is unknown.

This practice is considered rather outdated in USA and Canada. While I understand that no slight was intended, I would encourage people to write "they" instead of assuming everyone is male by default.

Back to the subject at hand though: I find the lack of institutional accountability for these sorts of errors frustrating amidst all the rhetoric of accountability and integrity for applicants.

you got it right in that way, but it is just the way people think and it may not be in their mind that this thing is outdated in Canada and The US.
