Dear Seniors,

I have read various threads regarding CIC fees in Canada / US dollars. Even the Buffalo consulate indicates that you can pay the fees in the USD dollars. However not sure what the conversion rate to use. As per the Buffalo consulate website, even if you pay in USD the cost is same i.e. $550.

canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/fees_frais_usd.aspx?lang=eng

Based on this information I have sent the CIC fees as $550 in US dollars.

I was wondering if anybody has sent the application after April and payed in USD dollars. I am nervous reading the forum and just worried that my application might be returned back.

Please advise.

Thanks

What you've done is best. It is always advisable to go to the CIC source to get the latest information for such details.
The rate for CAD to USD is 1:1. That's why its the same amount in USD. You can pay to Buffalo in USD and you have sent the correct amt.
Best of luck.

If your M.O was drawn from a canadian banking institution then you are OK. The instructions say that you only pay in USD if your drafts/checks/MOs are from a U.S institution and CAD if they are from a Canadian institution. Hope this helps-:)
