I had chosen Alberta as my desired place of settlement.Honestly,I had no reason why i chose this place but i just had to choose some place.

I have in the process worked so hard to get some Canadians friends who are willing to get "friendship" affidavits declaring that they will help me all the way, once I land in Canada. The support doesn't include funds but informational support and any other technical support thereof.

My worry is..non of these Canadian friends come from or live in Alberta. They all come from Nova Scotia. Now when updating my application information, what will happen if i change my desired initial settlement place (Alberta) to Nova Scotia? .Do you think this might cause some problems??

hi tonny,
i am not the best person to reply but i think if your friends are in nova scotia, they can only sponsor u to live in nova scotia.
if u want to live in alberta, someone blood related to you must sponsor you from what i know.
but if u r selected by alberta but then go off to nova scotia, i think they will revoke your PR.
the province will only give u the right to nominate you if you show them u ll want to settle in their province.
once u have resided in that province for the required time, i dnt how much time, maybe 2 years, then you are free to move around.
but before getting the liberty to move around, you must have resided in that province for the amount of time stated by that province.
so if your friends are from nova scotia, then u can only reside there and not apply , get selected and then go to alberta.
similarly, if you are selected by alberta, you cant land there and then go to reside in nova scotia.
thats as far as i know.
i hope it does help.
however, one thing i am sure is if you are selected by one province, you can always VISIT another province and return to your nominated province.
i am not an expert, so i ll request you not to take my words as law as i might also be wrong.
u should also seek someone else opinion who is much more experienced.
i suggest pmm being the person who can give a good advice.
wishing you all the best.
God Bless You :)

Hi Tonny

There is no reason for you to be worried, if you are not applying as PNP; you may change your city/province for settlement.

when I started my immigration process I chose Toronto Ontario for settlement, eventually the things changed and at the end I decided to do my landing at Calgary Alberta, and there were not a single issue about it.

Actually Alberta is a very good option, there is lot's of job opportunities, well paid, I love the people, always helping!!

So, go ahead my friend and I expect to see you soon here in alberta

Regards
Eduardo
