DEAR SENIOR MEMBERS AND EVERYONE,

ANYBODY HELP ME PLEASE!

I AM 6 MONTHS PREGNANT NOW AND MY DELIVERY DATE WILL BE ON JANUARY 2011. I DON'T WANT TO LIVE WITH THE GUY WHO MAKES ME PREGNANT BECAUSE WE'RE ALWAYS ARGUING. I DON'T KNOW HIM A LOT ABOUT HIS ENTIRE LIFE BUT HE TOLD ME HE WAS SINGLE.I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF HE'S TELLING THE TRUTH BECAUSE I JUST KNOW HIM LESS THAN A YEAR BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT. AND SINCE HE SLAPPED ME IN MY FACE, I ALREADY DON'T WANT TO HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH HIM (4 MONTHS AGO), BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO HIM ANYMORE OR EVEN TO SEE HIM.I GOT A PHOBIA.BUT HE KNOWS THAT I AM PREGNANT.
THE PROBLEM NOW IS I NEED A SUPPORT FROM HIM FOR MY BABY AFTER BIRTH.

>WHAT ARE THE PROCESSES TO ASK FOR A SUPPORT IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS?
>IS IT POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO SUPPORT WITHOUT MEETING ME AND MY BABY?

I APPLIED FOR EI MATERNITY LEAVE BUT I AM NOT YET RECIEVING BENEFITS BECAUSE MY EMPLOYER DID'NT GIVE ME ROE UNTIL NOW. WHEN I ASK MY EMPLOYER TO GIVE ME ROE, HE TOLD ME TO CALL HER ACCOUNTANT. SO I PHONED HER ACCOUNTANT TO MAKE ONE FOR ME AND I TOLD HER THAT THE SERVICE CANADA WAS WAITING FOR ME TO SUBMIT THE ROE BECAUSE I ALREADY SUBMIITED MY APPLICATION FOR MATERNITY LEAVE. BUT THE TIME I TOLD HER THAT, SHE GET UPSET BECAUSE SHE SAID" SHE MUST BE THE ONE TO SUBMIT MATERNITY LEAVE FOR ME".

>IS THIS RIGHT THAT THE ACCOUNTANT OF MY EMPLOYER MUST BE THE ONE TO MAKE & SUBMIT EI MATERNITY LEAVE FOR ME, SINCE THIS IS MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT?

>HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE IF YOU REQUESTED AN ROE TO THE EMPLOYER?

>WHAT IF MY EMPLOYER WILL NOT GIVE ME AN ROE BECAUSE HER ACCOUNTANT WAS UPSET WITH ME, WHAT I'M GOING TO DO?BECAUSE MY EMPLOYER WAS ONLY DEPENDING ON HIS ACCOUNTANT.

PLEASE HELP ME. SHARE YOUR OPINIONS. THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE AND GOD BLESS!

You have the right to get support for your child but the father also has the right to visitation with his child. Maybe he will not be interested in visitation but if he wants it, it is his right.

I have not heard that the employer or accountant should ever apply for somebody elses EI. Usually people apply for their own EI.

If you can't get a ROE, ask the advise of EI, see http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/faq/faq_general.shtml#tried
The employer can not deny you one as far as I know. It should not take the accountant more than a couple of days to type up a ROE for you.
