Child going to be born in USA and we have recieved CoPR

Hi,

I needed some help and wanted to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and how they have progressed.


My wife is 35 weeks into her pregnancy and due to her high-risk pregnancy, her doctor has advised against any travel at the moment. I wanted to ask if you have ever encountered anyone who had received a CoPR and delivered a child in USA and could land in Canada with the same CoPR after the birth of the child? I am not sure what the repercussions are but from what I have read we need to inform IRCC of the new family member. But at the same time, I am thinking if my child is a US citizen they can enter Canada without CoPR during our landing and I can apply for Sponsorship once we are there.

CoPR - Expires Aug, 2025
Baby due date - Sometime March, 2025

Looks like you still need ARC which means you can’t land anyway.

So you need to add child to the application once they are born and wait for it to be processed again.
