Read through H&C considerations. Hire a lawyer. Who is “we”? It is possible to be approved under exceptional circumstances but will take years to process. So if your permit expires then be prepared to not be able to work or have health care (unless first stage is approved) during the process. If refused then your chances of returning to Canada are very low.

If you can get PR through EE or PNP, then that is best rather than taking the H&C route.

You can attempt to. What services are available in your home country and what services they need in Canada will be a factor since ASD can mean so many things from minimal needs to significant disability. As already mentioned your ability to support a child with special needs versus what you can realistically expect from the government will be a factor. In some countries you would be in a much better position if you return home because access to therapy will be less expensive and without wait lists. You may be able to pay for private education or get an aid for school easier. You may also have family support in your home country. The fact that there are minimal services after age 21 should also be a factor. Really depends on the needs of your child, your financial position (whether you have access to benefit prog an through employment should also be a factor) and what ie accessible in your home country. H&C apllications are taking up to 2 years so you should be looking to extend your WP in Canada. If it makes sense to remain in Canada also encourage you to look at economic streams if immigration because you have significantly more control of your future that way
