Child born outside canada to citizen parent

Hi guys, can anyone tell me according to canadian rule of April 17, 2009, if a child born outside canada to one citizen parent and other on PR . Then child will be citizen or not?

It would depend on how/when the Canadian parent became Canadian, I suppose.

If the Canadian parent was recently naturalized and/or born in Canada then yes, the child is Canadian and you should get his/her paperwork in order to get his/her passport.

If the Canadian parent was born outside of Canada and received his/her citizenship via descent then the child is NOT entitled to citizenship and is not a citizen of Canada.

I had PR card for 8 years and in March, 2015 I became citizen. But my husband is still on PR card. So I am confused to take decision for delivery outside canada.

In that case you're a citizen through naturalization. Your child will be a Canadian citizen automatically even if born abroad. However if your child is born abroad, he/she will not be able to pass Canadian citizenship onto his/her own children.

we are having a similar situation
our son was born in the States recently. My wife is a naturalized Canadian citizen
So we are planning to apply for our baby's Canadian citizenship once we get back to Canada
