I am applying for my husband sponsorship and we have a child together. I heard the father name does not go on birth certificate unless he was present during the time of delivery. Now I'm sponsoring my husband and the checklist ask if we have a child together then we have to send the child birth certificate which shows both parents name. I live in Ontario, and I don't know what to do now

If you can't add his name, then just include an explanation. Not a big deal.

You can add the father name on the birth certificate. The father doesnt have to be present.
There is a form he has to sign though. Its a consent form. Call service ontario. 4163258305
They will able to guide and assit you. Goodluck

You should have been able to include the yfather’s name when you applied for a birth certificate. Is there a reason he wasn’t included? You may need a DNA test now but Service Ontario will help you out.

A DNA test will NOT be required. The child is Canadian and not included in the app.

Meant to include the father on the birth certificate after birth. There could be questions about why the father wasn’t originally put on the birth certificate. Service Ontario will advise what is needed.

Still not needed. As long as the father consents, the name is just added.
