Checklist sponsor - #18 (proof of income/employment)

The checklist for sponsor: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.PDF number 18 asks for proof of income and/or proof of employment.

When you apply under the spousal sponsorship (outland), do you need to provide number 18? I understand that number 19 does not apply, but I am unsure about 18.

Yes you need this.
I provided a letter from my employer, signed with the company stamp and header.
