I am sponsoring my wife Outbound and while reviewing my checklist (again) something caught my eye. I may be overthinking it, but looking at Items 7 - 12 and 22 - 27, it almost seems that they are asking for me to include these documents even though they are complete in my wife's section with our complete package.

More likely the item and checkbox is simply there to indicate that my wife has included these with her documents ... am I correct with this

A I say, I sure I am overthinking the whole thing but would like an opinion

thanking you

paul

Think of it this way, your sponsorship is a separate application than the PR application. Same with OWP, if applied for. So, I put copies in for each application.

I don't get it. Does that I must include copies of ALL the completed forms my sponsored wife did with her her documents? As in items 7 - 12 on my checklist ?

Also on Items 22 - 27, must I include in my documents, the following:
Sponsored person and family members

22 - Identity and civil documents
23 - children information
24 - travel documents
25 - proof of relationship - my wife has created a very large file on this , photos etc
26 Originals of Police certificates and clearances - my wife has attached originals in her section.. how can i have another original ???
27 Proof of medical examination - i can get a copy of that

if all this is required, then I must PRODUCE A complete copy of ALL FORMS, DOCUMENTS , PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP, PHOTO'S ... ITS HUGE

tell me is isn't so

It isn't so. There is absolutely no need to duplicate the documents.

We treated them as separate applications under the last revision of the paperwork. CIC call centre rep suggested they were separate (eg OWP goes to another office). But I also thought what you'd suggest about duplication. What's a bit of extra paper, right?

So for example if I am submitting a print off my my eMedical sheet (the upfront medical) with the UMI no. and all in my envelope (sponsored spouse) we don't need to put a copy of it in the sponsor file, same with copies of my ID documents etc? Or maybe write a cover letter explaining that we placed the documents the sponsor's checklist mentions, but which are the sponsored person's in the sponsored person's envelope? Seems silly to make copies of all these things (esp. proof of relationship).

You don't need duplicates or a cover letter.

Yes, to effectively copy my wife's entire application include her forms, all her supporting documents, Proof of relationship which includes:
family photos, skype messages, money transfer documents, proof of gifts , family members supporting letters and on and on. Something around 100 pages of documentation.

So its far more than just a few pages. Copying the photos alone requires a lot of work and money. I just can't get my head around why CIC would want all of this repeated in my section documents? But maybe they do. If so, of course I will do it.

I don't know, however, I truly appreciate all the input, and any one who has more info, please comment.

We didn't copy the bigger stuff. Just specific things like marriage certificate, her passport, mine, etc.

I think you may also have a newer version of the form as well...

Again, they don't want duplicates. If you do include it, it just means more work for the VO because they will have to separate out and shred all of the duplicate stuff.

Yeah... all that duplicate stuff is surely unnecessary. I will include what I am asked for with my portion only.

thanks you all for the help. I am so grateful

For what its worth... just spoke with an Immigration LAWYER with regarding this thread and duplicate copies of spousal documents implied in sponsor checklist IMM 5491, item numbers 7 - 12 and item numbers 22 - 27.

These points DO NOT refer to any copies required. They are intended to simple show the structure of documents within a properly assembled package; which is to say, how it is assembled and then mailed. This is the information I received

Hope hope that helps and want to that all of those who provided input to me previously. God bless you all
