Hello all,

I have received my first file number on 29 June 2010 and a letter asking to wait 6 to 12 months on 20 March 2012 from London Visa Office of CIC. However, I have been trying to check my application status online in CIC website using all the information available to me and it has till date not identified my application. I tried almost all the alternatives and combinations possible, but in vain. Am I the only one experiencing such a difficulty or is it a common thing?

The application process timing of London Visa Office keep extending for 2 to 3 months each time as it gets closer to the previously announced processing time. Does this have anything to do with access to online application status? Keeping fingers crossed that it should stop extending like this forever and finish processing the backlogs sooner. Appreciate if you can share your experiences and solutions,if any. Thank you.

What's the message, that you get on failure of login?

Make sure that you select "Immigration file number", from first drop down menu
and then enter your File number in box below it.

Hi,

Thank you gudboy and doct88 for your responses. I have never managed to log in to e-CAS till date in spite of repeated attempts.

I have selected Immigration File Number / Application Number option (for Identification Type) from the drop down menu. Since it didn't get me there, I tried other options like Unique Number, Receipt Number, etc. Entered the 10 digits starting with 'B' followed by nine numerals for Identification Number. Used all possible combinations of my name(Given name, Family name, Surname etc separately and combined) including cases - Xyx, XYZ, xyz and so on...My date of birth and country of birth remain the same under all circumstances!!! (At least I believe!!!) ;) I guess that is the set of information that they ask to have access to check my application status.

The message I get when I click continue is - 'We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:...'

I am using a Google Chrome browser. Does it have anything to do with the log in???

Better you apply for CAIPS note and use your Unique no. taken from the CAIPS note.
Best of luck.

The Immigration file number is starting with letter "B". there are spaces in between. In your letter from CIC, you file number will be written as "B 1234 1234 5"

Dont put space, when you are trying to login like this B123412345

Hope it will help you

Thank you gudboy. I never used spaces. It was always entered as B123456789. But no result. I even tried using different browsers on different computers too...More important than accessing e-CAS is now to get the call for Medicals...keeping fingers crossed. I am constantly in touch with my representing agent. But, having an access to see your online application status update is always a relief...

Anyone with a similar experience to share? Did you manage to sort out the issue?

Note: The file number with the bar code below it, was same for both the letters I received from CIC - AOR and 6-12 months waiting letter.

For ordering GCMS notes, start here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/index.asp

If you are not in Canada, you will need to have your agent in Canada order them for you, for which there is a $5 charge (this can be paid online via credit card.)

If you do not have an agent (consultant, attorney, friend, family, etc.) in Canada, you may use a service. One I have used in the past is http://www.caips.ca although there are others (and I do not benefit if you use this service, I've just used it in the past.) There is a fee for their efforts, but it is modest (approximately $30).

Good luck!

Hello computergeek, how come you got your Medicals done even before you applied for immigration?

I've done medicals twice. The first time was for my FSW application and what they found ultimately led them to rule that I was excessive demand medically inadmissible (which I'm challenging, and my court hearing is in one month) and the second was for a spousal sponsorship application. Spousal applications usually do their medicals first while other classes typically do them when requested by the visa office.

Since I am not able to access e-CAS, I have requested www.caips.ca to obtain CAIPS File for me. I have already paid the money for their service via Paypal. Does anyone have any prior service experience with them? Are they a genuine party? They were recommended by one of this forum user!!! I know once I pay money, there is no point in asking such questions, but just a re-assurance from a previous customer is always valuable. Thanks.
