Also, my duties are NOT NOT excatly the same from NOC 6212, so is that OK ??

This letter of reference is to certify that (this person) has work for more than one year as a full-time Shift Manager, fast food restaurant (NOC 6212) in (ABC company) from 08/04/2010 to 07/19/2011. rpun, it looks like you have all the required elements, and the job duties as described are fine (if they are exactly the same as written for the NOC, that is bad). For job duties, the only change I would suggest is putting the supervision of staff FIRST on the list. (On the application form, you only get to describe the 3 main duties, and supervision of staff should be one of them).

The dates you list reflect less than one year of employment, while the letter states more than one year - better get the facts straight.

Also, your letter goes back and forth between past tense and present tense - better make it clear whether or not you are still employed :) If you are still employed as of the date of the letter, you can write "employed from 08/04/2010 to the present."

Hey Jess, once again, thanking for replying to my post. I have couple of questions to clarify before i finalised the letter.

1) My duties are quite different from the NOC 6212 duties, so will i be penalised for that ???
2) The emplyment date should be from 08/04/2010 - 08/10/2011. However, i will still be working with the company.
So should i just put the employment date from [ 08/04/2010 - present] , even though i have complete one year ?????

Hey Jess, once again, thank you. thank you.. thank you...for replying to my post. I have couple of questions to clarify before i finalised the letter.

2) The employment date should be from 08/04/2010 - 08/10/2011. However, i will still be working with the company after one year.
So should i just put the employment date from [ 08/04/2010 - present] , even though i have completed my one year ?????
3) So which other top 2 duties would recommend to put on the application beside the "supervision of staff ??
4) I only have T4 and NOA form August 2011 until Dec 2010. However, i DON'T have it for 2011 until August, so should i submit my paystubs for prove of employment from Jan 2011- August 2011 ???
thanks...... you... JESSSS

If your duties are as stated in your sample letter, they seem quite similar to me.

2) The employment date should be from 08/04/2010 - 08/10/2011. However, i will still be working with the company after one year.

In the letter, yes, you can say 08/04/2010 - present - the letter will have a date at the top, which cannot be before 8/04. The letter already indicates "has worked for more than one year..." in the same sentence.

3) So which other top 2 duties would recommend to put on the application beside the "supervision of staff ??

The most significant ones. The ones you list all fit with the NOC description, but I'm not a food service manager, so you would know better than I...

4) I only have T4 and NOA form August 2011 until Dec 2010.

Of course! That's OK, the instructions only asks for most recent. It is possible that CIC requests your 2011 T4 & NOA before finalizing your application next year, so be sure to submit your 2011 tax return as early as possible next year (as soon as you get your T4).

However, i DON'T have it for 2011 until August, so should i submit my paystubs for prove of employment from Jan 2011- August 2011 ???

No; you could submit a copy of your latest at the time of application (e.g. end-of-July paystub, first one in August), you would only need one since it should show cumulative wages - but it is not required. You have your letter of reference. If CIC wants more proof they will ask...

I mean that, when I read the job duties in your sample letter, and I read the duties described for the NOC code, I agree that that's the correct NOC code for your job.

I ALSO have a question about the one year of work experience.....

Let say, i begin my work on August 4, 2010 ( 08/04/2010) and finish my one year of work experience on August 6, 2011 (08/06/2011) .
[ 08/04/2010 -- [ 08/06/2011]

Will i be penalised for having EXACTLY ONLY one year of work experience and NOT having a bit more (Like 1 year and 1 month) ?

thanksss... JESSSS..................thankssss

You should not be penalized.
