Well, it doesn't make sense that your employer wouldn't give you a letter of reference for your immigration case. You should press on him and explin the situation and I am sure he would understand the circumstances. And If not than, do whtever it says. Make a nice cover letter explaining your position, your title and your responsibilities. And also give details of the firm and state that your employer is not comfortable. You should at least be able to get a copy of the contract which explains your responsibilities. I am sure that's important.

I am no expert, but this would ebteh alternative or you wait for someone else replies who has expereince through this. Or if it comes to worst seek a legal advice froma lawyer, it'll cost you a little bit but they can probably let you know that best way to go abou it.

But whatever i explained above, I would do that. But seek some advice please. It's always good to ask hundred's before you do anything wrong.

GOOD LUCK!

hi, i understand that situation. i personally experienced that too. i asked before my previous employer and they said, they couldn't give any reference letter because the management has changed, that the previous files of the old management were no longer to be found. in that case i was about to make a letter, explaining the reason why they can't give a reference letter, state my position, hours of work, duties and responsibilities, salary, date i started in the position.

but lucky for me when i asked the office again the second time, and the manager i talked to became a friend of mine during my stay in their company. and i just asked a favor. and he gave me the reference letter... all you have to do is try your best... :) good luck man!
