changing work (postdoctoral) visa

Hi
I will really appreciate if anyone help me.
I have a postdoc offer from one university in Canada and applied for work permit and my visa visa approved about two weeks ago.I did not go to Canada yet. Now I have another position (the position is not postdoctoral fellow, it may be a research fellow but the visa is work permit) in a better university that I really like to go.
How can I change my work permit from first university to second university?

You cannot change your existing work permit. You have to apply for a new work permit.

Thanks, my husbands also applied for spousal open work permit with my previous work permit and his visa was approved. Should he apply again with my new application for work permit? Or I should just apply for new work permit?
