Changing visitor permit to study permit,

Has anyone ever had experience changing status such as "from visitor to study permit holder" ?

please advise.

You can do it - but your application has to be sent to a visa office outside of Canada. Generally speaking it's harder to be approved if you are already in Canada since it's more difficult to show ties to your home country.

Given that you have been trying to immigrate for some time ( around 2005) coming to Canada and trying to get a study permit is probably not the best avenue.
