Hi Guys, I have questions about recent new policy. I applied and got a study permit by using an Ontario University in June. Then I received my dream school in BC in late July. The Ontario program is a part time study, and BC university is full time. Both started in Sep 2024. I didn't attend both university in the first term as I was working at that time. However, my work permit expired in the end of December 2024. I want to attend the BC university but need to apply a new study permit which will take around 143 days. What can I do? Which way is most efficient for me? I am thinking multiple ways: 1. ask UBC school for deferral and apply for the extension, however, before I can get a new study permit, how can I keep legal status in Canada or leave Canada? 2. attend Ontario School this term for part time study, will part time program have immigration impact? I am also in the EE pool and waiting for future round of CEC as long as the cec draw can drop.
Another concern is the eligibility of collecting EI, as my termination of work was due to other reasons rather than my work permit. Terminated in Nov, still receiving the severance pay.
Which way is the best?
Thanks in advance.
