Changing payment details

Hi All,

I applied for PR under CIC category on September 19, 2014. I still have not received the file number from CIC.

I had provided my credit card information for payment and now my credit card issuer notified that my card will be replaced with a new card on January 2015. I am now worried how I will replace the credit card information without file number.

I called CIC and they mentioned to email the Sydney office which I done but have got no reply yet.

Did anyone of you faced anything similar? Any suggestion/advice will be appreciated.

HI Guirndar,

No it is not getting expired. The credit card is an American Express Costco card. Since Amex and Costco have discontinued their partnership, Amex is replacing the cards.

If they are just replacing the card without changing card credentials you are good, check with your card provider about it.
What happened to your personal bank credit card ? What about your visa and Master card?
You have no choice left - if they change the card & its credentials at the time of accepting your application . They will not be able to retrieve money and Your application will be eventually returned and you have to start from scratch , unfortunately it will be era of Express Entry.

If you can somehow extend the card change , you will be good to go.

Thanks Gurindar. Hoping for the best. The card is valid till December 31st, 2014. Could you please let me know when CIC will take the payment? After file number is issued or before?

Ofcourse the # will be provided only once they are able to deduct money.

Great. That's a relief. I applied in September and even if they deduct the money by end of this month, the credit card will work. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you very much for your responses Gurindar.
