changing passport, new work permit?

Hi, my questions is this? I had change my passport (new passport because the expiry date was coming soon), I wanna know I f I need to get a new Work Permit because I have a new number of passport? or I can keep working with my current work permit until the end of thtat permit? thanks

1. Yes, you can continue to work with your work permit until it expires. The new passport doesn't change anything.

Have you checked the expiry of your current work permit? Typically they're not issued for a date past the expiry of your passport. So if you had to get a new passport, maybe your work permit expires soon as well.

I applied to extend my work permit in Canada last month, but I am still waiting for a response (its taking around 60 days) I applied with my old passport which will expire on november 2015, but last week I renew my passport and I have a valid passport until 2020, so I wanna know if I need to make a "Case Specific Enquiry" https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.127045389.1685498281.1401303249 to adivse the change and maybe get a work permit for three years (my contract) or I must wait to receive the work permit that I applied (probably until november of this year because my old passport expire that time) and the reapply for another work permit using my new passport. The problem is that I have a new number of passport., thanks

I would make sure to contact them via every possible method (as they're all flawed) to ensure they receive a copy of your new passport before they process your application. Email them, go through the Case Specific Enquiry and call them if you need to.

Hopefully they will receive the update before they issue your work permit.
