Changing My Student Permit to Spouses Student Permit

I have a job in the US. I want to go to school in Canada and work from the US. I am not sure if I can go to school for 3-4 classes at the same time as working full time without burning myself out. Assuming my wife and I are admitted under a student permit for myself, could she get a study permit from within Canada, and then I don't have to keep studying if I get burned out? If this ends up being the case, we would be basically changing places of who is the student permit holder after being admitted. I am thinking she could get a student permit like she could get an open work permit for being the spouse of a student permit holder.

Does anyone know the answer? Basically, the question is can my wife, being admitted into Canada as the spouse of a Study Permit holder, apply for her own study permit from within Canada without having to leave and do the process from her country?
