Is it possible to change the 'preferred language' in the citizenship application from english to french or vice-versa after failing the first attempt of citizenship and applying again for it?

When you are reapplying citizenship once again, you can choose any preferred language between English and French.

If you haven't submitted the application and applying afresh, its your own personal choice to select preferred language regardless of what you stated in your previous application

If we fail citizenship exam first time, we need to reapply afresh, right?

If you fail citizenship exam, i think you would be given a change to do retest however, I am not sure what exactly is the procedure.

If your citizenship application is refused then it means you need to reapply and reapplying with all new paperwork means new application.

It means that you have to collect the documents and fill the forms again with complete new information.

call CIC and ask them if you could take the second exam in english or in french.

If you are reattempting the test after first failure, contact CIC if you can do the test in french or english.

Okay. When you apply afresh use any preferred language between the two. In case, if you fail the test, i think you were given a chance to reappear for the test again but i am not sure.

If in case, the application is completely refused, you can reapply using english or french (your choice) regardless of the preferred language chosen during your first application.
