Changing Job under same employer

Hi,

I work for a employer in Canada under closed work permit. But I would like to change Job. The interesting part is, my new Job is also under the same employer but in a different closeby location.

Now my current manager wont allow me to just transfer to the different office of the same employer. But the manager at new office is ready to hire me right away.

So technically, i plan to resign from my current employer/manager and rehire at the same employer company but new manager(both employer companies are the same, just different location and people).

My question is, once I go to the new location under same employer, do I need to change anything on my work permit? Or can my current manager revoke my work permit?

My work permit permits me to work for the employer, position and location, which is common. Just that I would resign from one location and rehire back to the new location.

Please advise soon.

Thanks,

You need a new LMO and a new work permit before you can start work at the different location. If you look at your work permit it specifies the employer and the location.

Thanks pmm. But in my case the location is same, just a few blocks away. And as per work permit, its in same province. Please advise.

Also can my old manager cause any trouble to my work permit like revoke it?

The location is not the same if it is a few blocks away.

I mean, both the locations are in BC, and my WP says I can work for this employer in BC. So as per the WP, all the requirement is met. I am still working for the same employer in BC.

Look your approved LMO that got you the work permit was for AAA employer at 123 Main St, not AAA employer at 999 No. 1 ave. You need a new LMO and new work permit.

But mine was a inter company transfer so there was no lmo involved. Please advise.
