Hello! I am writing this on behalf of my Fiance ( Ezra). I am a Canadian Citizen and he is from New Zealand. He is here on a temporary working Holiday Visa which expires in Nov 2012 and from what I understand can not be renewed . We are getting married on July 6 2012. I originally wanted to apply for a spouse sponsor ship visa but we would be applying inland and I realized that 5 months was not enough time to get that visa ( it will take aprox 2 years from what I understand) so he needs to get another Visa while the spouse sponsorship visa is being processed. He wants to apply for a work permit, he currently has an awesome job and the employer agreed to help him get the LMO. The problem is he ALREADY has the job so his employer would have to "fake" re hiring him..... and also we are getting married and from what I understand , when applying for a work permit the officer needs to be satisfied that he( Ezra) does not intend to stay in Canada. But clearly he does intend to stay in Canada with me.... So we want to apply for the work permit BEFORE we get married. But I am very confused as to whether or not being married to a canadian citizen would be an advantage or disadvantage to getting a work permit? Also when applying would it be the application " to change conditions, extend my stay, or remain in Canada" ? If yes , there is a box where you write how long you would like to extend your stay till, how do you determine how long that time should be? It would be ideal to get a work permit for 2 or 3 years as we wait for the spouse visa to be approved, but I dont know if this is possible? I have done a lot of research and phone calls but I still am confused :( I would appreciate and feedback and help!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
