Hi,

I am looking for authentic information regarding changing employer unde lcp. I m here in toronto since a month working as a live in caregiver. Its not even been a month but there is so many things going on in the house. The working environment is not good and i do not get enough rest in night and i m expected to wake up early. I am always hearing that the budget for carer is very low and they are spending way high on it, i dont know what they mean. Every day i see sulky face and unsatisfied people. No matter how hard you work, they are not happy.despite of paying for room and board, i do not eat anything here as they are mentioning lot of time about the expenses. I am not happy and also stressful.
In this scenario, i have received another job offer under same category. And at this time, its getting hard for me to decide whether to stick or move. Am also worried if my current employer will provide me the papers for the time i work or not.

Please help me.

Stressed girl.

if you're not happy, quit your job. stress is not healthy for you. but before you quit your job, make sure your prospect employer is applying for your lmo/lmia. don't wuit your job until you job your new lmo/lmia is in your hands and ready to be submitted to cic for work permit under lcp...you have to be wise and tough with your decision. i know it's not easy to be out bwcause of fear that you might not be successful with your new work permit applocation but everything is a risk. niw, you just have to weigh your pros and cons and how far you are willing to take...remember, you are protected by your rights as a worker here. if everything else goes wrong, contact your local service canada for help...c",)

I remembered your other questions on your other post. Always remember that time is of essence here. Changing to another employer will mean starting the process all over again. First discuss your problem with your employer, stick to what the contract is. If you are working more than the regular hours then you should be paid overtime. I know when you signed the contract there is a section where the employer writes your schdule and duties for the day, if you signed it means you have agreed on that schedule. Also do remember that there is already news about changing the LCP or phasing it out this September. If everything has been discussed to your employer and they did not do any changes to make your working environment more convenient then by all means find another employer and hope that the new one is better than your current one.
