Hello Fam,

Due to some personal reason I need to resign my job in Canada and go back to my home country on the 29th of Jan 2021 for more than 6 months. Now my application is under process in Canada, since June 2020. So I am confused as to what should I do about the address.

Can I change the address on my PR profile to the one of my home country? Can I do that or I will have to re-apply my PR.
Should i change the address right now or once I land home?

Thank you

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

It really depends on what program you are applying to, if you applied through PNP, you are required to maintain your work while processing your application. However, if you are under EECEC or FSW, once you fulfilled the one-year work experience requirement, you will be fine.

There is not necessary to change your address if your address is still valid, but you have to be considered, once you return to Canada with your approved COPR, the POE officer has the authority to examine whether you still satisfied with the program you applied for, if you leave Canada and stay another country more than 6 months, you might ask to submit your criminal history again, your medical examination might be conducted again if it has expired.

Thanks!
