Changing Accompanying children to non-accompanying

I got a strange story.
I (20) was the dependent of my father in his Skilled Worker process, my step-mother was the one who handled the paperwork and did everything. I didn't live with them but they kept telling me and my mother I was included as accompanying. I did all the medicals and they got their Passport Request, so I moved to Canada so I could send my passport from there and receive PPR.
But I got my passport back with a letter saying I was marked as non-accompanying and therefore couldn't receive PR.
I obviously confronted my father/step-mother about it, and they claim they sent a letter to IRCC saying "she's moving to canada to send passport but she will be on schedule" (it was 1 month to send passport to get ppr) and IRCC changed my status to non-accompanying.
I asked them to sponsor me and they said they can't since they have an autistic child that receives social help.
Is it possible to change accompanying children to non-accompanying after decision made like this? thanks

They have to sponsor you. What kind of assistance is he receiving? Therapy would not prevent them from sponsoring you.

Dependent can be changed to non-accompanying up until the Principal Applicant lands as a PR.

IRCC doesn't change dependents to non-accompanying unless specifically directed to do so by the PA. Your father or step-mother made the change, not IRCC.

Also, unless they have gone on welfare, having an autistic child in no way prevents them from sponsoring you.

It unfortunately seems as that your father doesn’t want to sponsor you. You can confront them now that you know they can sponsor you. You only have a year left until you can be sponsored. You will need to see if they are receiving welfare. Would try and get them to sponsor you while moving forward with establishing common law and the common law sponsorship,
