Hi,
In currently with a work permit and I’m also applying for permanent residence under Canadian Experience class, my permit is good until the end of February and the person of human resources in my job told me that I can continue to work after February and while I’m doing the change of status to a visitor . I not really sure about this and I don’t want to put in risk my permanent resident application, is this correct?

Thanks!

hi. i don't think that's a good idea. the only thing you can work for them is you submitted your application for new work permit before your current work permit expires. since this is not going to happen, because you are going to apply as a visitor, you can't work for them anymore. well in fact, you actually have to leave the country before the expiry of your work permit. and if you are going to apply as a visitor while youre here in canada, you will have to leave the country still and come back. either way, february will be the end of your work with your employer.
