Please help, everyone! I just applied to get my first name legally changed. The change should go through in 4 - 6 weeks. I have a citizenship card with my current name on it, as I had become a Canadian citizen through naturalization. I also have a passport. Thing is, I plan to travel around late October, so I would need to re-apply for a passport with my new name on it. Can I apply for my passport as soon as my name change goes through, as long as I submit my current citizenship card along with the certificate of name change?? I can apply for citizenship card later then. Or do I absolutely have to apply for a new citizenship card (with my new name) first before I could apply for a passport? That in itself would take a very long time! Would I be able to make it by October? Please advise! :(
