Hello everyone,

i have a question regarding a closed work permit.

If someone has a present work permit as a postdoc researcher and then got an offer as a university professor for the same university, while waiting for the new work permit, should the person wait till he got the new work permit to start working on the new offer or he can transit to the new offer without issues ? as mentionned it is with the same employer( same university) the same noc 4011, the only change will be in the name of the offer (from postdoc to professor + the university professor need LMIA which was not the case with the postdoc)

if not, when applying for the new work permit should he include a letter for explanation so that he can get the autorization to work as quick as possible while waiting for a response?

Thanks a lot for your answers and feedbacks!

Regards,

Regards,
1. You need the new work permit before you can start working.
2. Unlikely that your request for priority processing would go anywhere.

Hi

2. Unlikely that your request for priority processing would go anywhere.
Thanks for your feedback.

Why do you think it is unlikely that they will speed up the process in case of specific reason of work starting soon ? (i just saw that they are processing quickly these days the inland work permits (for about 42 days))
