Change of university

Hi Experts,

Please let me know ,whether can I change my university after getting Visa.

I applied for "X" university for Visa and got the same, but now I wish to go to "Y" university.
(regarding the course both are same Masters in computer science).

Will there be any problem if i change after getting study permit at port of entry and join university "Y"?
Or let me know Can I do anything before landing in Canada?

Yes, you can change your university, but the Level should be same i.e. (Masters to Masters), which is your case.. Njoy

After getting my study permit can I attend "Y" university without visiting university "X" (which I used to get Visa)I mean not even attending a single semester? Is this possible?

Don't tell at POE that you will change your university. Don't do this mistake. Land in canada, Get study permit, get out of airport and then go anywhere.

what do u mean by POE?
why cant one land directly to university of his choice irrespective of Acceptance letter based on which visa is issued? as it is clearly written on above stated link that one can go to any university if he is going for masters or PhD.....

POE means Point of entry, the first point of canada where you will land.

The sticker you have in your passport is Temporary resident visa not a study permit. Study permit will be issued at poe after verification by CBSA officials. So if you tell those officials that you are going to change institution may not seem fit for these officials and there is high chance of sending you back. There have been cases reported like these in past. You can search through forum.

SO I suggest don't tell CBSA that you are gonna change your uni. Wait till you get out of airport and then you can go and study anywhere.

One of my friend got depoted from the Toronto Pearson airport last year. He told CBSA officer that he will change his college and will leave this province. First get study permit and then you can go wherever you want. Moreover if you wish to change univ do inform your X univ after getting admission in Y univ.
