Today I notice the change in the status of my CIC account on which the application status was "Submitted" a few days back and now it is changed to "Updated" but nothing is changed in my account. Can anyone tell me what does this mean?
 
Don't worry, they just opened your file to work on it. You will also receive an email from them stating that your application has been updated. According to CiC website, it may take up to 24 hours to receive an email. Like they opened your file today, you will receive an email by tomorrow. Hope this helps :-)

Thanks, but now it changed back to "submitted"

yes it's always changed to submitted once you check it.
