change of status from worker to student

Hello all,

i am currenlty in toronto, on temporary visa with open work permit valid till May 2016. I got admission to Memorial University of Newfoundland for fall 2015. Now I am applying for change of status from work permit to study permit. If my application is approved and I get study permit, will my work permit be automatically invalid? What happens to the valid work permit? If it gets invalid and I have to submit it What should I do to work on or off campus for the duration of my course? Should i apply for an off campus permit now itself with Study permit application(there is an option to do it) .

please help

Also Can I apply for open work permit for my spouse at a later date?(say an year later)?

Hello,

Once your status changed, your work permit expires automatically from the day your status changed. Under New change you no longer required off campus work permit, you can still work 20 hours per week ( double check that) as longs as you are full time student in the school.
