Change of Passport after receiving CoPR

Hi, I have two issues.
1) When IRCC issued my CoPR, they mentioned same passport number of I and dependent. I sent webform on this, They sent a link to update/Ammend CoPR document.
2)MY passport is due for renewal, I'm planning to apply for new passport(Indian). In My current PP, the surname is empty and I have only Given Name. I'm planning to split given name and add to Surname,( which the Indian emabssy has no objection - Split of name is allowed).
My question is: Shall I apply for modification of PP number in COPR now or after I receive the new passport and send them the details to ammend the Surname too?
Will this impact my PR card processing. I applied for PR card on April 2nd 2021.

Im trying to reach out to IRCC call center to check from last one week. The simply playing IVR, "All agents busy and can't take the call".

Your passport is your identity document and all other documents will be based on the information that your PP has.

If you intend to amend any document, make sure you get your PP amended first.
