Change of passeport number

Hi folks,
Ive been following you since 2016 and happy to join this active forum.
Question: im in the EE pool since 3 months, but im now renewing m'y passport, is it possible to change passeport number before or After getting ita?
Do CIC Ask for Travel History details such as exact entry and exit dates? It is very difficult to collect such information!
