I have just received my COPR which is amazing! But - I need it in my married name not my maiden name. I had informed them and uploaded my marriage certificate but my COPR also says that I am in a common law relationship, so I'm assuming they didn't get the email! I know I need to send it back to get it amended, but does anyone know how long this is likely to take? We have to arrive in Canada on or before 26/10/16 and I am very worried that its no long enough and that my application will be cancelled. I am planning on writing to them and including my marriage certificate again, I guess in hindsight I should have written to them in the first place, not emailed!

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Sarahp, is your passport in your married name or your maiden name? If it's in your maiden name then that'll explain why your COPR document is also in your maiden name. CIC cannot issue a document which is not in your legal name i.e. legal ID such as passport.
